It’s about to be a busy filming season in New Orleans as four big budget productions begin shooting next month. Here’s a look at the films and their start dates:
Yesterday, NOLA.com confirmed that Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, 20th Century Fox’s big-screen adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith’s revisionist-history horror novel, is set to start shooting in New Orleans Jan. 24.
As we’ve reported, Contraband, starring Mark Wahlberg, Kate Beckinsale, Ben Foster will shoot for eight weeks in New Orleans starting Jan. 17.
The horror sequel Piranha 2 will be filming in and around NOLA from Jan. 17 to Feb. 18.
Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are also expected in town from Jan. 24 to April 1 for for the sci-fi flick Looper.
Finally, The Power of Few, starring Christian Slater and Christopher Walken, is also rumored to begin filming in NOLA this winter.
Update: According to this article, The Power of Few wrapped about a week ago. The article also mentions again that Dungeons and Dragons 3 will shoot in Baton Rouge for four weeks beginning January 17th.

Slater and Walken had been in nola since Thanksgiving but have left. Not sure if they completed filming. Gordon-levitt was also in town briefly in the last two weeks.
Thanks! I did find an older article that shows it would have wrapped a week or so ago so I think you are right, I’ll correct the post. The casting call I referenced makes it seem like they weren’t filming yet, but I’ve had all sorts of issues with that website where I got that info so its not surprising, thanks for the catch!
The Disappearing Act is going to be filming starting Jan. 15 in Michigan, stars Bill Moseley.
Redemption is filming in Burlington, VT beginning January 3rd stars Lark Voorhies from Saved By The Bell.
