Bono and The Edge will attend all preview performances of ‘Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark’

According to Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark spokesperson Rick Miramontez, “[Bono and The Edge] will be in the [Foxwoods Theater] next week and for all of the preview performances leading up to the opening night working on the show.”

U2’s Bono and The Edge wrote all of the music for the Broadway musical which has been plagued by problems, most notably the injury of actor Chris Tierney who fell nearly 30 feet off the stage during a recent preview performance. Though the pair didn’t see the show until earlier this week, they are making it a priority to be on hand for the next several weeks ensuring the show is ready for opening night on February 7.

This not only means the show is likely to go off without a hitch, it also means that u2 fans may have a chance to get up close and personal with Bono and The Edge. Even if the rockers aren’t in the audience each night, assuming they do actually show up for each performance, they will likely leave out the stage door located on the right side of the theater’s main entrance! Let us know if you spot them at the theater! We’d love to catch a glimpse of Bono ourselves, but we don’t think we’ll be heading back to Foxwoods anytime soon.

In addition to the announcement that Bono and The Edge would be at all future preview performances,  Miramontez added that the cast and crew remain enthusiastic, despite the setbacks.  “They’re very upbeat. I think they were extremely proud to have given the performance they did when they came back last Thursday. If anything, this has created a [sense of] solidarity.”

Tickets for Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark are priced from $67.50 – $135 for weekday performances and $67.50 – $140 for weekend performances and can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com or by calling (877) 250-2929. Tickets are also available at the Foxwoods Theatre box office Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

  1. I’m not sure they will have time to fix/change the music before the opening.

Friends I know who have seen the show (and are U2 fans) have been..lets say very underwhelmed by the music/score. There are other issues, (slow second act) as well as many positives. Will be interesting to see what they can do (if anything) before opening night…
