According to the L.A. Times, Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy have teamed up for The Wettest County in the World, a Prohibtion-era dramatic thriller based on a novel by Matt Bondurant.
In addition to the Times article, which notes that the movie is set to begin shooting this spring, Atlanta’s 11 Alive claims that the movie will begin filming “in the next few weeks” in Atlanta.
Though it seems like LaBeouf’s involvement, along with a tentative spring start date, are pretty solid, the Times does also point out that this may put a kink in the filming schedule of College Republicans, in which LaBeouf was to play a young Lee Atwater and Paul Dano a young Karl Rove.
Update: We just heard the movie is in fact in pre-production in Atlanta.
