According to RGJ.com, pre-production on The Motel Life is already underway in Reno, Nevada.
The film is based on author-musician Willy Vlautin’s 2007 novel of the same name about two brothers who live in a Reno motel and flee the city when one of them is involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident involving a boy on a bicycle.
One Reno location that will likely be included in the film is Casale’s Halfway Club which is mentioned in the book and is known to be one of Vlautin’s favorite restaurants.
Emile Hirsch has signed on to play the lead in Motel Life which will begin shooting in Reno, as well as other locations, later this year for a 2012 release.
