Finally it seems as if the much-discussed feature film “The Story of Bonnie and Clyde” will finally start shooting in Alexandria, LA in April.

According to Bill Hess, the head of Central Louisiana In Film, “the movie will be filming for about eight weeks in April and May.” Hess adds that he is “pleased to say that ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ finally is going to be done.”

The project has been in planning for more than three years when the producer and writer Tonya S. Holly announced that she would be shooting a film on the lives of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow starring Hilary Duff. Three years ago Kevin Zegers was slated for the role of Barrow, however, whether he will take on the role or not is still to be seen, as for now he is still listed on the movie’s IMDB page.

Originally the movie was set to start production in the summer of 2008 with a May 2010 release date. However, due to funding issues and a struggling market for independent films, the project kept being postponed. It seems as if the movie has been slated for a November 2011 release date, but we will keep you posted on any possible changes.

  1. Excited for the movie being filmed in our area. How or where can you find out if any stand-in’s are still need?

  2. I just left the sight. It is being filmed as of 4-9-13 in St. Francisville La. My husband is a local musician and we went to Greenwood Plantation to scope out the sight of his next gig and ran right into all the movie trucks etc. at the plantation. When I returned home I googled the movie to see what was up and stumbled upon this site.

  3. The Movie is now being filmed at Carville in Baton Rouge. This is the site where people with Hansen’s Disease (Leprosy) was sent to live in the late 1800’s.
