‘Ted’, starring Mark Wahlberg, may begin filming in Boston this month

One of our readers, Chris, forwarded us an interesting casting call for Ted, the upcoming feature film debut of Family Guy creator, Seth MacFarlane, about a man who’s best friend is a teddy bear he brought to life when he was a kid.

The casting call is for pre-1985 cars needed in Boston which is no surprise, they are probably for flashbacks to when the man brings the bear to life, but the filming dates are a shocker. The casting call states that the cars will be used to dress a scene on Feb. 22 & 23, which is months sooner than we expected filming to begin.

Originally, there were rumors that lensing would begin in February or March. But then it looked like the Boston shoot wouldn’t begin until May, which made sense since the movie’s star, Mark Wahlberg, is still filming Contraband in New Orleans.

It will be interesting to see how the shoot unfolds. There has been no recent mention of the movie in the Boston media or by the Massachusetts Film Office, though this is not the first casting call we’ve seen in Boston so there is no doubt this is where the movie will be shot.

Considering they are looking for older cars, it seems they may be getting started with some of the flashback and second unit scenes until Mark Wahlberg wraps Contraband, assuming he’s still set to star.

If you have any scoop about Ted and where or when it might be filming, let us know about it at olv@onlocationvacations.com and stay tuned for more information about the movie as it becomes available!
