According to AnnArbor.com, George Clooney’s Ides of March is looking for thousands of volunteer extras for a scene that will be shot at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI during the week of March 14.
Anyone interested and able to commit to being on the set of the movie for a minimum of 12 hours (on a weekday) is asked to e-mail their name, age, height, weight, phone number, and a recent picture or two to IoMExtras@gmail.com, with “March Volunteer” in the subject line. Ryan Hill Casting is handling extras for the Michigan portion of filming.
The film, which is currently filming in Cincinnati, stars Clooney, as well as Ryan Gosling, Paul Giamatti, Marisa Tomei, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Evan Rachel Wood.
Dear Mr.Clooney:
I am interested in this filming event. Though not quite sure of it’s entirety.I do reenact doing the civil war and have done two dvd’s. No not a super star such as you but I liked doing these and plan on more if possible. I have no problems with getting in from to 50-100 people or more and going into the 1860’s first person.
I do have some pictures-however, the are all civil war ones.
Thank you and your cast for allowing others to have this chance.
Yours:Rory (Roy Dog) Jones

HASH BASH!!!!
Anyone submit to be an extra and get called back???
Dear Mr. Jones:
Thank you for your interest, but a Civil War soldier may seem out of place in a movie about current day presidential campaigns. Good luck with your re-enactments.
Yours George (Cloon Dog) Clooney

Are musicians needed? I would love to break into the studio recording industry.
Just wondering what age type and body type they are looking for? I am relatively short ( 5′ 1″) and am disabled, but I am an actor and I have done professional work. If I can be of use, I would love to do this! If photo is required, I would need to get this done ASAP. but am willing to do so. Feel free to contact me at the email address I gave.

Hi,
I am interested in being an extra but the e-mail listed in the paper does not appear to be valid. Could you give it to me again?
Thanks
Patricia
The e-mail wasn’t valid.
It said it doesn’t exist, and my e-mail was returned to me?
Patricia, the email above in the post worked for me. I actually got an email back stating that they received my information and that if chosen they will get back in a few weeks.
Gina, which email did you use?
I used loMextras@gmail.com!
Haha.
I sent it on an AOL email address if that makes a difference.
The reason the emails were bouncing back was because he had no more space available for his email. He said to try again in a day or so!
Got info from his FB page.

I have submitted for several different extra positions and have yet to hear back. Has anyone on here been contacted with further information/instruction/news? I was just wondering if they started casting for this yet?
I contacted Ryan Hill’s e-mail and they got back with me right away letting me know I was on “the list”. Now it’s just a waiting game to see if I will get called. I have been on extra wait list before and as you know “patience” works best.
What’s with the no-pay? Millions spent and millions more made on the films and thousands not paid. And no guarantee that you’ll even be seen to tell your family and friends about it. With most of the nation out here just trying to survive, that kinda sucks.
Sorry, SAG only. No Non-Union for me, thanks, but no thanks.
You got that right, Liam. You see how we struggling in Philly. 2 more for Pitts. though.
