‘Men In Black 3’ production delayed again

For those of you looking forward to stalking the set of Men In Black 3 this month, you’re going to have to wait a little longer.

According to the L.A. Times, Men in Black 3 has been delayed once again. The film was set to resume production in NYC on February 28, but the movie’s producers have pushed the start date back to March 28.

Reportedly, the postponement is due to “ongoing script issues.”

This is not the first setback for the movie. MIB3 was originally suppose to begin filming in October but that start date was pushed back a month. Then, producers opted to break production of the film into two phases: the first part, set in the present, would begin in November and wrap before the holidays (which it did), and the second part, set in 1969, would begin shooting in mid-February.

Though this was an unusual move, producers insist it was only done to insure they secured New York State’s tax breaks. “We had to start shooting this year to take advantage of New York State tax incentives, but we also needed to be able to shoot certain exteriors in warmer weather,” producer Walter Parkes said. “So back in July we had the idea to keep the start date but build in a hiatus so we could essentially extend the production to late spring.”

In the third installment of the franchise, Will Smith stars as Agent J, Tommy Lee Jones reprises his role as Agent K in the present while Josh Brolin, through a time-travel twist, plays a young Agent K from 1969 who encounters countercultural figures such as Andy Warhol and Yoko Ono.
