– Gerard Butler has been cast as Frosty Hesson in the biopic Mavericks, which will begin shooting in California in October. Frosty Hesson was the mentor of Jay Moriarity, a well known surfer who died one day beofre his 23rd birthday in a free diving accident. [MercuryNews]

– Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman have signed on to star in Stoker. The mystery drama, written by Wentworth Miller, is about a girl and her mother who are visited by a mysterious uncle after the girl’s father dies. [AccidentalSexiness]
– Paul Walker will star in Pawn Shop Chronicles, a thriller that Fred Durst will direct. [THR]
– Amanda Seyfried has joined Summit’s thriller Gone about a girl who returns home after the night shift to find her sister’s bed empty and she believes that the serial killer who kidnapped her two years before has come back to finish the job. [Collider]
– Ioan Gruffudd has signed on star opposite Sarah Michelle Gellar in the upcoming CBS drama Ringer. [JustJared]
– The Farrelly Brothers apparently want Cher to play a nun called Mother Superior in The Three Stooges. [ComingSoon]
