‘VEEP’, ‘Georgetown’, and ‘Homeland’ will shoot in Washington D.C. this spirng

With pilot season in full swing, some cities that don’t usually see much filming activity will be buzzing with productions over the next couple of months.

For instance, three new TV projects will be shooting in Washington D.C. in March.

As we’ve previously mentioned, the HBO comedy, VEEP, starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus as the vice president, will be shot in Baltimore, but, since the show is set in the White House, they will also be shooting periodically in D.C. Production starts Saturday in Baltimore though one of our readers, Eric, already saw Julia at the BWI airport last Friday catching a flight back to L.A., so be on the lookout for the cast and crew around town in the coming days!

The one project I am looking forward to more than any other pilot this season, Georgetown, will also be shot in and around D.C.  The ABC pilot was created by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage (The O.C., Gossip Girl) and is about a group of idealistic 20-somethings juggling their professional and personal lives on the hill. Georgetown will be shot in NYC between 3/16 to 4/4 too!

Reportedly, the Showtime drama, Homeland, starring Claire Danes, which is currently shooting in North Carolina, will also spend some time filmign additional scenes in D.C. this spring.

If you spot any of these productions in or around D.C. this spring, let us know about it at olv@onlocationvacations.com!
