One of our readers, Aaron, brought a recent blog post on FilmDogsOnline to our attention because it suggests that Superman: Man of Steel will be shot in Chicago this summer.
The article claims that a “source close to the Chicago film scene [is] hearing rumblings that the movie could shoot there this summer.”
If this were to be true it would be a huge coup for Chicago since itsĀ been common knowledge for several months that the movie is set for a Vancouver shoot. It may be possible, and more likely, that the bulk of the shoot will still take place in Vancouver and maybe they will spend some additional time shooting exteriors in Chicago too.
Stay tuned on this one and be sure to let us know if you hear any additional gossip about a possible location change for Superman at olv@onlocationvacations.com!
UPDATE: In a Toronto Sun article published yesterday, director Zack Snyder verified Superman will be filmed in Vancouver and possibly Alberta this summer. “I’ve got a great crew there,” he says, referring to Vancouver, where he made his last two movies Watchmen and Sucker Punch.
[Thanks Aaron]
I can assure you that primary filming (and as far as I know, all of it..but, perhaps things can change) is certainly set for Vancouver.
I am sure you are right, but I thought I would mention it just in case, the last time I blew off a rumor on a smaller blog, they ended up being right and I got burned for dismssing it, so I’m just playing the messenger lol
