Amy Adams: The New Lois Lane

Amy Adams (‘The Fighter’) is the newest cast member to join the Warner Bros reboot of “Superman: Man of Steel” – to be directed by Zack Snyder (‘300’, ‘Sucker Punch’) and produced by Christopher Nolan (‘Inception’, ‘The Dark Knight’).

In a press released by Warner Bros., Snyder was quoted saying: “Second only to Superman himself, the question of who will play Lois Lane is arguably what fans have been most curious about. So we are excited to announce the casting of Amy Adams, one of the most versatile and respected actresses in films today. Amy has the talent to capture all of the qualities we love about Lois: smart, tough, funny, warm, ambitious and, of course, beautiful.”

Additional cast includes Henry Cavill (‘The Tudors’) as Clark Kent/Superman, as well as Kevin Costner (‘Dances with Wolves’) and Diane Lane (‘Unfaithful’) as Kent’s Earth parents Jonathan and Martha.

The movie is scheduled for a tentative release date in December 2012.

Though several recent reports have suggested the film will be shot in Chicago, Snyder has said it will be filmed in Vancouver. Either way, principal photography is set to begin this summer.
