In Photos: ‘J. Edgar’ filming in Warrenton, Virginia today

As we reported in today’s daily filming locations, J. Edgar, the Clint Eastwood-directed film starring Leonardo DiCaprio as J. Edgar Hoover, was filming in Warrenton, VA today, after spending the weekend shooting around Washington D.C.

The scenes they shot today mostly involved a crowd gathered outside the Warrenton Courthouse waiting to hear the verdict in the Bruno Hauptman case, who is played by Damon Herriman in the film. Hauptmann was charged with the abduction and murder of Charles Augustus Lindbergh Jr., the 20-month-old son of Charles Lindbergh. Hoover later launched an FBI investigation into the handling of his case as the public began to question his conviction. As you can see in some of the photos below, extras in the crowd are holding up signs that say “Kill Hauptmann, He is Guilty” and Death For Hauptmann”.

Though Leonard DiCaprio wasn’t on set today, we are hearing that Leo will return to the set tomorrow as filming moves to The Plains, VA.
