Zombies Set To Invade Connecticut For ‘Remains’

It looks zombies may be taking over the east coast this spring.

Not only is the zombie flick Plan 9 being shot in Virginia, but another zombie movie, Remains, will begin shooting in Connecticut in June, and AMC’s The Walking Dead is expected to begin shooting in Georgia in the next few weeks.

Remains is a post-apocalyptic zombie movie, based on the graphic novel by author Steven Niles and illustrator Kieron Dwyer, in which the undead are victims of a nuclear power plant explosion, meaning some will be listless from the effects of the radiation, while others will be energized.

Though the movie is set in Reno, Nevada, the filming will be take place in Connecticut in June. All indoor scenes for the movie will be filmed at the Ramada Inn on Route 27 in Mystic and the outdoor scenes will be filmed in Norwich, CT.

Remains will be shown on NBCUniversal’s Chillers channel after the DVD is released later this year.

As for The Walking Dead, though we haven’t heard an official start date for season 2 yet, but we know that “zombie school” began in May 2010 for season one, so we would expect extras casting to begin within the next couple of months so stay tuned!

  1. I was reading the paper and noticed that there were auditions for “The Walking Dead.” I would really love to play a zombie, but I was curious as to how I would audition and if its already too late? I live really close to Norwich so it would be easy for me to go there, I would just need the information if its possible for me to audition. Please let me know. -Cindy

  2. Same as Cindy. I’m really love to be a zombie but I’d hate to miss the casting call. Has anybody heard anything about Zombie School for 2011? – Kristina
