According to MI6, Bond 23 director Sam Mendes and producer Barbara Broccoli are in South Africa prepping for production of the 23rd James Bond film.
The news came from former England International cricketer Darren Gough who reportedly sat with the pair on a flight to Johannesburg yesterday. Gough said that they were traveling to scout locations for the film.
Surprisingly, no James Bond actor has filmed scenes in the country before, though villains Wint & Kidd did spend time in South Africa in 1971’s Diamonds Are Forever.
Bond 23 will begin filming in November, with a release date set of November 9th, 2012. Pinewood Studios in the U.K. will be the home base for the film, with various on location shoots taking place around the world.
Still cannot believe after all these years 007 has never filmed in Canada…( except for the short Spy Who Loved me ski jump in the beginning of the movie).
