As we reported a few weeks ago, it has been confirmed that R.I.P.D will shoot in Boston this year, but now its uncertain who will star in the film.
The movie follows a murder victim, played by Ryan Reynolds, who agrees to work for the police force of the afterlife in exchange for the chance to find his killer. Zach Galifianakis was suppose to play Reynolds’ partner, an agent of R.I.P.D. since the 1800s, but he has dropped out of the project.
Instead Galifianakis will star opposite Will Farrell, in Southern Rivals, a political comedy that focuses on two presidential candidates.
It will be interesting to see what happens to R.I.P.D, some are already speculating the project may be put on hold, or scrapped completely. Reynolds has said many times that his attachment to the movie does not guarantee anything as there is still a possibility that he could shoot the X-Men movie Deadpool instead.
Looks like we’ll have to stay tuned on this one.
