In addition to the two big budget films already shooting in Montreal, Blackbird, starring Olivia Wilde, and The Expatriate, starring Aaron Eckhart, The Brothers Grimm: Snow White will also begin filming in the Canadian city next month.
The movie stars Julia Roberts and is already in pre-production at Mel’s Studios. According to Next Montreal, the production is taking over five studios at the facility and the crew will be building Snow White’s village over a 100,000 square foot area.
Principal photography is expected to begin in the studio next month.
The Brothers Grimm: Snow White is slated for a 2012 release and will stick to the much darker Brothers Grimm fairly tale, rather than the lighter Disney version.
