Last week I wrote a short post for Jaunted about all of the different restaurants where the stars of Five Year Engagement had either been spotted filming or had been spotted eating in Michigan, and now I’m wishing I had waited a week so I could have included Zingerman’s Bakehouse!
Thanks to a few OLV posters, we had heard that Jason Segel would be filming at the Ann Arbor bakery this week and were thrilled when one of our readers, Bananadoc, stopped by today and not only got to see Jason (along with co-star Emily Blunt) on the set, but also got to enjoyed Pecan bread and a raspberry gelato for dessert while there!
Zingerman’s Bakehouse is located at 3711 Plaza Drive in Ann Arbor and according to their website (and a few locals we’ve talked to this week) they specialize in delicious breads, pastries, and cakes. They’re also offering baking classes later this year so everyone can learn how to create their own decadent treats. For more information about the Zingerman’s, visit ZingermansBakehouse.com.
According to Bananadoc, Jason’s character is a baker at Zingerman’s so the bakeshop will even get a few shout outs in the movie!

Saw Jason Segel, stand in double, other cast and crew filming on Liberty Street, between Main Street and Ashley in Ann Arbor, Michigan on Thursday, May 26 and May 27. They made it a winter scene, very interesting in Michigan in late May. There were “fake snowbanks” built and “fake snow” sprayed on the trees. In the alley with a car and a fight scene. On main street in Ann Arbor, a car chase scene filmed until 6:00 am May 27. Crew still cleaning up, taking lights, props down until 10:30 am. Very interesting and hope we still get to film movies in Ann Arbor. Earlier in the week, they were in my neighborhood filming at a residence on Glendaloch Circle, an ultra modern beautiful home. I did not know what was going on at first. Thought that it was a big “party” when I saw the catering trucks and crew trucks, etc.
