More information about the ‘I Hate You, Dad’ shoot in Cape Cod this summer

As we reported a few days ago, there will be Open Casting Calls held at Carson Place on Mount Vernon Street, Boston on May 21 and 22 and at Barnstable High School in Hyannis on May 28 and 29 for the movie I Hate You, Dad starring Adam Sandler and now we have a little more information about the Cape Cod portion of the shoot.

The movie is set to begin filming in Osterville on the Cape in July. “They said from the beginning that this [Cape Cod] was absolutely where they wanted to be,” said Kristen Mitchell, vice president of tourism marketing for the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce. “They really wanted to make that happen, no matter what.”

Sandler plays a father who moves in with his son (Andy Samberg), shortly before his wedding, which causes all sorts of problems.

James Caan, Vanilla Ice and Leighton Meester also star.

The Osterville business community is already excited about having the stars in town, not to mention the hundreds of crew members and onlookers who will also descend on the Cape. “It could be a big draw to the town,” said Nat Cote, the owner the Osterville Cheese and Sandwich Shop. “I would definitely like to see Adam Sandler in here having lunch.”
