Another Awesome Report from the Set of ‘True Blood’ in L.A.

We received the nicest email this morning from two of our readers in L.A., David and Liz, who paid a visit to the set of True Blood at the Millenium Biltmore Hotel yesterday thanks to our tip.

Here’s a look at what they had to say about the shoot and another photo too!

My girlfriend Liz has been a fan of TB since episode 1, thanks to you OLV, we were able to see Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer and Alexander Skarsgard in person while filming episode 10 of True Blood today!

Once we arrived at the hotel, the crew was very welcoming and let us stand in the lobby (as long as we remained quiet during filming). They were filming scenes with men and women (presumably Christians?) some sort of religious figures (priests, doctors with Lab coats and young men wearing BLUE shirts that said “STOP HATE NOW”. Im assuming this was some type of social event with vampires and humans coming together to promote equality.

(SPOILER: There are several men “dressed down, southern… “hick” style”, beards, messy clothing, along with several other men DRESSED IN BLACK stealth gear (black beanies, black gloves, black army style clothing covering their entire body” (some men were bloodied). We could not see what was happening inside the Hall Room.. but at the end of every take, men and women ran out of the Hall screaming. Alexander Skarsgard was bloodied as well.)

Almost immediately, Stephen Moyer arrived on set. I walked up and asked him if my wife could take a quick photo, he was very polite and said “yes absolutely” moments later Anna arrived on set.. she was in a rush and I did not bother her (the actors and extras were waiting for her to arrive, there was no time to ask her for a photo).

Between scenes, we noticed Alexander Skarsgard walking in and out of the catering area (located in another hall).  We spotted him sitting on a curb outside the hotel watching a movie on his Ipad and I approached him, he was the nicest of all! I told him he could stay sitting but he insisted on standing to take a photo with my wife. My wife joked how short she was and how tall he is, Alex had her stand on the curb for the photo, lol. He was very nice to us. We took the photo, thanked him once again and made our way to our car.

I am sure the crew would have let us stay, however I understand they are hard at work filming a new season and I did not want to interrupt in any way. It was a privilege OLV, thank you once again for a great experience!

Thank you David and Liz for sharing you experience with us!

  1. I’d suggest waiting to post these stories til AFTER the episodes air because the more spoilers that get out there, the less likely staff will allow us to stay and get photos. Just a suggestion.

  2. Yes! Let’s please respect the story tellers and not post spoilers!! Because of the spoilers posted online, they tightened security and are now moving fans away from the set and cast members!

  3. Unfortunately I’d have to say I agree. Sadly I was on the set of True Blood yesterday and the actors said they could no longer pose for photos with fans due to the many spoilers that had been posted online. 🙁
