With The Hunger Games starting production in North Carolina this week, we’ve had several readers ask us to star an Open Thread, where fans can discuss the movie, and where it may be filming in the comments.
So, here it is!
This first week of filming will be easy to track as the location has been widely reported. Between May 19 & May 26 Hunger Games will be filming on Henry River Road in Hildebran, NC. It is rumored this first location will serve as Mellark’s Bakery in the film.
Filming will continue at various locations across North Carolina for the next few weeks, including spots in Charlotte, Asheville, and Wilmington.
If you spot Hunger Games filming, have any scoop about possible locations, or snap any pics of the cast, let us, and your fellow fans, know about it in the comments below!
Or, if you’d rather, email us at olv@onlocationvacations.com!

— guess better be careful if posting pics..
Love the The Hunger Games is filming in my small city of Shelby,NC its great to see a big movie being made. Its easy to get caught up in all the excitment around it. Cant wait to see our small town on the big screen next year. An so excited that we are District 12, since our town is an old mill town anyway its the perfect location.
Well the filming is over. My dad lives a block away from the old warehouse where the filming took place. I tried to get a closer look but the roads were blocked the whole time. I guess I was lucky to see the crew and cast from a distance. The way they had everything blocked off it was near impossible to get close enough for any kind of photos or sneak peak. I will watch the movie so I can see my old neighboorhood in lights.
