‘Total Recall’ begins filming in Toronto on Monday

According to Collider, Kate Beckinsale has officially signed on to Len Wiseman’s Total Recall remake (no surprise there since they are married) opposite Colin Farrell, and Jessica Biel will play the other female lead (Melina).

Kate and Jessica are joining an already impressive cast which  includes Ethan Hawke, in a cameo, Bill Nighy, and Bryan Cranston, who will play the film’s villain.

This version of the movie will feature Farrell as a factory worker who begins to believe he’s a spy for either the nation stat Euromerica or New Shanghai, but he doesn’t know which.

Principal photography begins in Toronto on Monday. If you spot them filming, let us know about it at olv@onlocationvacations.com!

  1. Way too soon to do a remake. Can’t imagine how they’re going to improve on a movie that was perfect the way it was. I have a feeling this will be an epic fail. Colin and Jessica are mediocre at best. And seriously, as much as Schwarzenegger gets on my nerves in politics, he was the ultimate action hero. How is scrawny, no-acting Farrell going to top that performance? Hollywood must be running out of scripts and talent.

May I have some of what you are smoking? First of all, it’s been 21 years since Total Recall was released. That’s not too soon. Secondly, if acting was an issue, it never affected Arnold, because he was a horrendous actor. Colin Farrell is 10 times the actor Arnold ever dreamed of being. So your comment that Farrell is no acting, and how is he going to top Arnold is downright hilarious. He will act Arnold off the stage, even on his worst day, and this film will be far better acted than the original, which was filled with bad acting and bad dialogue. As for scrawny, Farrell put on 2o pounds of muscle for this role, and the truth is this role never called for a muscle man anyway. Dick’s story is about an everyday man who is a spy, not a bodybuilder.
