Today, Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters will host the 13th Annual Broadway Barks in New York City.
The event brings together Broadway’s biggest stars for a dog and cat adopt-a-thon benefiting New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies. Among the local animal agencies on hand to show off their adoptable pets will be Animal Care & Control of New York City, Adopt A Boxer Rescue, Animal Haven, Anjellicle Cats Rescue, Animal Relief Fund, the ASPCA, Brooklyn Animal Resource Coalition, Bideawee, Bobbi & the Strays, City Critters, Humane Society of New York, and many more.
Along with Moore and Peters, dozens of Broadway celebrities will be there to walk available pets down the red carpet and encourage everyone to adopt. Bebe Neuwirth, Bobby Cannavale, Reeve Carney, Paige Davis, and John Larroquette are among the stars expected.
Broadway Barks kicks off at Shubert Alley (located between 44th and 45th Streets, between Broadway and Eighth Avenue at 3:30 p.m. with celebrity presentations of pets from citywide animal shelters taking place between 5:30-6:30 p.m.
