‘Promethius’ filming underway in Iceland

Filming for Ridley Scott’s new movie, Promethius, began earlier this month at the foot of Iceland’s Hekla volcano.

“If one is afraid of nature in this profession then it would be best to find a different job,” director Ridley Scott told reporters at a short press conference in Reykjavik before heading off to Hekla for the shoot.

Just weeks ago it was believed that Hekla was about to blow but Scott said he did not lose any sleep over the reports.

The filming is expected to last through the end of this week with Charlize Theron and Michael Fassbender starring.

Today, filming is also expected to take place at Dettifoss waterfall, Europe’s most powerful, which will cause some road closures in the area.
