Confirmed: ‘Man of Steel’ filming in Sugar Grove, IL Aug. 7- 10, 2011

As we reported, the exit ramps off of Route 56 in Sugar Grove, IL have signs posted that they will closed from August 7th through August 10th from 3 p.m. – 10 p.m., which we believed would be for Man of Steel, and now that assumption has been confirmed.

Reportedly, Route 56 from Galena Boulevard to Route 47, will be shut for four days, starting Aug. 7, for the filming of “Autumn Frost”, aka Man of Steel.

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced the road closure Tuesday. The film title was confirmed by Todd Lizak, assistant managing director of the Illinois Film Office.

The road closure starts at 3 p.m. Aug. 7. Westbound Route 56 traffic will be detoured to westbound Galena to reach the westbound Route 56/U.S. Route 30 via Route 47. Eastbound Route 56 traffic will be sent to northbound Route 47 to reach eastbound Route 56 via Galena.

The road will reopen no later than 8 p.m. Aug. 10, according to the IDOT release.
