Yesterday, film crews started setting up for filming in the parking lot of an IHOP in Aurora, IL.
According to one of our tipsters, Andy, “Last night they were unloading cables and wires from their trucks at the IHOP restaurant in Aurora at Orchard Road and Interstate 88. I don’t know if they will be filming in the middle of the night tonight, tomorrow morning, tomorrow night, etc…..The trucks said 3rd Act Pictures so there’s no doubt it is Man of Steel.”
Crain’s Chicago Business also notes that staging is going on around the Aurora IHOP, but according to their article filming doesn’t officially begin until Monday.
Pre-production staging started Wednesday at an IHOP restaurant in Aurora, according to sources, but the Warner spokeswoman could not confirm that location. Filming starts Monday, and some scenes are planned for an industrial park next to DuPage County Airport.
The article also mentions that filming will take place in the Loop in Chicago from Aug. 7 to Aug. 17, weather permitting, which actually overlaps with the shoot that is reported to take place in Sugar Grove, IL. In addition, filming will take place on Main St in Plano on Aug. 6 and Aug. 22 to Aug. 29.
The movie stars Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent, Amy Adams as Lois Lane and Michael Shannon as Superman’s foe, General Zod.

UPDATE: As of 7.29, there were no longer any sings, trucks or trailers at DuPage Technology Park or any nearby park. This may have just been a holding/staging area.
They are filming in Sugar Grove and have Route 56/30 closed between galena and route 47 with a setup of some type of traffic jam it looks like
thanks for the info!
