This week James Van Der Beek has been hanging out on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia filming his upcoming movie Backwards.
The movie focuses on a 30-year-old woman who fails to make the Olympics for a second time so she takes a coaching job at a school where her boss is also her ex-boyfriend. She then struggles to adjust to life off the race course. Meredith Apfelbaum co-stars with Van Der Beek.

Once Backwards wraps, James will back in L.A. to shoot his upcoming series, Apartment 23, which will debut on ABC this fall.
