‘Lords of Salem’ will begin shooting in Salem, MA in October

A few months ago one of our readers, Bobo, took a ride through Salem Pioneer Villagein Salem, MA where it looked like they were prepping for the Rob Zombie flick Lords of Salem, but more than 5 months later there still hasn’t been any sign of actual filming.

Now, after rumors that the movie’s shoot and release dates were being pushed back, director Rob Zombie has announced that the movie will begin shooting in October (just in time for Halloween).

He’s currently wrapping up a summer tour and plans to get to work on the movie as soon as he’s done. Zombie also said that the script is a “pretty dismal affair”.

You can see the complete interview here and find out more about the movie at rzfilms.com.

As for the Salem Pioneer Village, which is still expected to be one of the primary filming locations, it is open June- October from noon- 4 p.m., admission is $6 for adults.
