Yesterday, The Avengers began a three day shoot in New York City, which will also mark the end of filming on the movie. The Central Park shoot that took place Friday brought together most of the Avengers, while today’s shoot included a cameo by Stan Lee!
Check out more than 2 dozen photos from the set taken by our readers in NYC below:
Thanks to @NYCisMyMuse for sharing these amazing photos taken on the set of The Avengers in the Central Park yesterday:

Thanks to @patrickcotnoir for sending these photos taken on the set today including a photo with Joss!
Finally, @pattiepadfoot sent us these pics she took with Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, and Chris Hemsworth in Central park yesterday. She told us that she spoke to Tom Hiddleton and he confirmed that he’s wrapped for The Avengers shoot but will be “hanging out in NYC for a week to see the sights.” She said Chris Hemsworth was also hugging all the crew after his scene was done too because he also wrapped on movie.
She went back to the set today and was able to get a sneak peek at tomorrow’s call sheet too confirming that they will return to the same location, around 42nd and Park, and it will be the last of day of shooting on the movie. We also learned that Chris Evans will be the only star on set and he will arrive around “dusk.”
Thanks so much to everyone who sent in tips, pics, and has been keeping us updated throughout The Avengers NYC shoot! If you spot a movie filming and want to share some scoop, let us know about it at olv@onlocationvacations.com!
I’m a little confused.. will the 4th be the last day of avengers in nyc or the 5th? Thanks!
That was confusing too. Today is day “92 of 93” but today’s schedule says “end of principal photography.” I dunno if they’ll just be doing exterior/scenery shots all of tomorrow?
I think all that matters here regarding the NYC shoot is what is written in red in the lower right corner where it says “Last Day Avengers Shoot in NYC 9/4/2011”. They are done filming in NYC today. Perhaps there is one more day of second unit filming somewhere, but not here, or it would not say that. Labor Day is a holiday for all the film and TV unions, so not likely they are filming.
these pictures are from September 2, Chris H and Tom pictured wrapped on Friday – https://ohnotheydidnt.livejournal.com/62439536.html
R avengers filming today or no? Just curious
Yes, they are. There are casting calls looking for extras with electronic devices, IPads, Nooks, Kindles, IPhones, high tech phones, etc. A lot of extras scheduled for today.
so scarlet definetly isn’t there??
She shot on Friday and Saturday, but she is not on the call sheet for today, so it looks like she’s done.
Does anyone know until what time they will be filming?
Still set up in front of grand central. Nothing shooting now. Can’t tell if they are done or on break.
annie, please stop referring to casting calls.. there is not need to and you are jeopardizing a source of info for the cheap thrill of acting like you know something someone else doesn’t
..and I would really appreciate it if you would grow up.
Omg chris evans was very crude with the fans waiting for his autographs and photos. At the end of the day he sneak out the other side of trailer and left with his driver THE CREW PUT A KID INSIDE THE TRAILER AND MADE THE KID VERY SADDEN very uncool for crew to make kid look foolish and make fun about it
What do you mean the crew put a kid inside the trailer? I walked by when people were lined up in front of his trailer.
Don’t you think it’s more rude for people to stand there and stalk what is supposed to be a private area for the actors?
I think its rude to impose on personal space…but to answer your sarcastic question…not at all. The private area is inside the trailer.
You’re splitting hairs. So the “private area” is only inside the trailer, and yet the actor is now getting dragged through the mud for exiting the other side of the trailer where the fans weren’t standing. Apparently, the only “legit” way for an actor to get from his trailer to his car is through a crowd of fans. What’s the point of private space if it’s an island, ringed by a zone where people can impose on you all they want?
The original question’s not sarcastic: isn’t it more rude to stand outside someone’s trailer door under the assumption that it’s the only exit route they have, and so they’ll HAVE to deal with you?
They told a kid to go into the trailer to prove Chris Evans had left
It all about fans having their dreams come true with people that inspire them to feel good with all the problems we have in the world today it makes people happy when they meet the stars and get their autographs
Thanks annie about my question earlier
yeah i saw that whole things evans was a complete douche that kid waited bout 12 hours
was there a mob of people waiting or something?
There was only 20 people there not that crowded and no papparazi either chris could’ve been nice to the fans that waited a long time for him and made ev1 happy and thrilled to have their dreams come true
If it wasn’t for fans who pays to see their movies they wouldn’t be rich and famous to ev1 HAPPY LABOR DAY
Yes, people go pay to see the movies. I’m one of those people and in return, we get great performances and the great movies that we treasure. However, the actors don’t owe us anything back. The actors are entitled to privacy and respect. And if “real” fans of Chris Evans knew that he feels uncomfortable in those type of situations then they would respect that and not seek him out like a pack of dogs.
I understand what you’re trying to say but there could have been like a million other reasons why he wasn’t able to sign autographs and take pictures.
This is true too. I just dislike when people call actors “douches” and other disrespectful terms because “I didn’t get my autograph”….Seriously? Thanks for putting it into perspective Amber 🙂
are u serious ? people weren’t upset that they personally didn’t get their picture or autograph, they were upset that this little kid who spent his whole day in the hot sun waiting for his hero got completely rejected and to in a polite way rather a total snub out, so why don’t you go find that kid and explain to him ” how people shouldn’t attack like dogs” even though he was patiently waiting, and side note chris evans isn’t even that great
Chris Evans was very rude. Young children waited for hours, and he wouldn’t even give a wave or acknowledge crowd of only about 20 people who waited for hours. I wouldn’t go to see any of his movies after this. I feel bad for those kids.
If you bring your kid to Disney World, you can expect him to get an autograph from Mickey and Goofy. That’s because it’s their job to wander the park and make a little kid’s day.
Bringing your kid to a film set with the expectation that the working actor on set will happily sign something is a gamble. Sometimes they have to catch a plane, sometimes the schedule’s been pushed so far that they’ve barely had any sleep, sometimes they just don’t want to gladhand for half an hour before going home. It’s fine to praise people for being excellent at courting fans, but to rag on them for not fulfilling your expectations off the clock? No.
Chris Evans is no legendary actor anyway. I met Al Pacino who was very cool one day, so I.wouldn’t lose sleep over this. What I must say, the crew did put little kid in trailer to prove he was gone and snuck out other side of trailer. Never seen anything like it. How cruel to that kid.
I’ve given up trying to reason with people about this. Apparently everyone is too narrow minded to see that putting someone in his trailer (regardless of the actor) is invading personal space, child or not. To each their own.
so there is no more filimg today? I am so upset i missed all this.
that is for The Avengers??? thanks
I saw Chris Evans exit his trailer with bodyguards, signed an autograph and told the crowd he has a plane to catch and left. I took a few pics of him. nice person.
re: Chris Evans being rude — on the Friday at the Central Park shoot, Evans not only took the time to pose for a picture with my 5 year old son, he engaged him in conversation. My son happened to have his Captain America shield with him that day and he was asking him all about it.
Evans couldn’t have been nicer with the small window of opportunity he had (and then Joss Whedon needed him for another shot — by the by, Whedon apologized to my son for having to take Captain America away which was cool of him)
So my experience is that Evans was on the clock, working — and when he had a chance, he engaged with a young fan.
