This is what you could call a last minute change, according to Deadline, Superman will have a new Kryptonian mother in “Man of Steel.” Apparently, Julia Ormond has left the project and will be replaced by Israeli actress Ayelet Zurer who has been hired to play Lara Lor-Van.
The “Angels & Demons” actress has already started filming her scenes. She will play opposite Russell Crowe who stars as Superman’s biological father Jor-El.
With this casting change, the principal cast now looks like this: Henry Cavill plays Superman, Russell Crowe plays Superman’s Kryptonian father, Jor-El, Amy Adams is Lois Lane, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane play the Kents, and Michael Shannon is General Zod.
Man of Steel, which is filming in Ucluelet, BC this week, will be flying into theaters on June 14, 2013.
