Open Casting Call for ‘Tracing Iris’, starring Kelly Rowan & Aidan Quinn, in Ontario today

An open casting call was recently announced for the upcoming movie Tracing Iris, based on the novel by Genni Gunn.

The movie, which was co-written by and will star Kelly Rowan who starred as Kirsten Cohen in The O.C., follows Kate Mason, a thirty-something social anthropologist “returning to the emotional crime scene she reluctantly calls home. While Kate mercilessly unearths the remnants of a life littered with evidence of abandonment, lies and loss, she also unravels the coil that binds her to Iris, the mother she never knew.”

Aidan Quinn has also signed onto the project.

Tracing Iris will be shot in Greater Sudbury, ON this month, but first they are holding a casting call for a few key roles.

Actors are needed for “Tracing Iris”, a film being shot in Greater Sudbury this October.

Those interested in appearing in the film are invited to audition on Oct. 5 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at 29 Larch St.

The film is being produced by The Film Works International Inc.

All actors will be paid.

The characters being cast are:

Patti – age 17, rebellious single mom
Iris – age mid 20’s – beautiful, gypsy spirit
Danny – age mid 20’s, sexy bad boy
Miranda – age 50’s – tall
woman – age late 50’s – homeless woman

Trevor – age 18 – scruffy high school kid
Karen – postal employee
Joe – age mid 30s
Greg – age 30’s – good looking saxophone player
Stubbs – overweight mayor
Bartender
Elderly man & Elderly woman
young girl – no lines, healthy and full of promise

Auditions will be run on a first come, first served basis. Actors should bring resumes as well as a headshot.
