Once again Wilmington is being visited by celebs. This time around the city welcomes John Corbett (“Sex and the City,” “Parenthood”) and Jessy Schram (“Falling Skies”), the two actors are in town filming the upcoming Hallmark Hall of Fame movie “A Smile As Big As The Moon”, which began filming around Wilmington this month.
The made for TV movie will premiere on ABC in 2012, and sees Corbett playing Mike Kersjes, a high school football coach and special-education teacher who teams up with fellow teacher Robynn McKinney (Schram) to take a group of special-ed students to NASA’s Space Camp.
It is also expected that the movie will film at the Space Camp facility in Huntsville, Ala. So far, scenes have been shot at New Hanover High School, Lakeside School, the Wilmington YMCA and the Wilmington House of Pizza.
