‘The Lords Of Salem’ begins filming…in Los Angeles

With Rob Zombie making several scouting trips to Salem, MA during the past few months it seemed like a sure thing the majority of his new movie, The Lords of Salem, would be shot in Massachusetts, but it looks like that won’t be the case afterall.

The Lords of Salem is currently on its sixth day of shooting with an eclectic cast that now includes Christopher Knight, Bruce Davidson, Barbara Crampton, and Ken Foree, all updates we’ve received from Rob Zombie’s Facebook page.

But what Zombie isn’t clear about is where exactly the movie is filming. According to BD, they are currently shooting in a recording studio in Los Angeles, a fact that was backed up by a casting call we spotted today for “emaciated women needed to work as Ghost Figures on Lords of Salem 10/25 in Los Angeles”.

But, even though the movie has settled into filming in L.A., all hope is not lost for those in Salem who were hoping for a few more Rob Zombie sightings. The director is still expected to spend at least a few days shooting in Salem, possibly as early as next week.

The Lords of Salem is about the residents of Salem, Massachusetts who receive a demonic visit from a 300 years old coven of witches after a local DJ plays a cursed record.
