Earlier this month Rob Zombie officially announced he had wrapped production on Lords of Salem, his upcoming film about a local DJ who mistakenly unleashes a hellish curse on the town of Salem.
On December 10th Zombie updated his Facebook page with the following note and photo:
THE LORDS OF SALEM update. Editing is moving along great and John 5 is writing some crazy, spooky music. That’s it.
Here is a picture of Maria Conchita Alonso doing a little Cheech and Chong number in a bathtub from the film.
Though the movie is set in Salem, MA, they spent less than a week filming on location in the historic town. The Salem shoot, which took place in mid-November, was spotted by a few of our readers likeĀ Will who told us, “I live in Salem and they were filming on Essex Street, saw Rob down there. [The crew] were all very nice and everyone says that Rob has been nothing but nice to everyone, taking pics, signing autographs and just being an overall cool guy.”
According to Patch, the Salem shoot also took place at the Salem Willows Pier, Greenlawn Cemetery, the Witch Trials Memorial, and Engine House Pizza. But there was no mention of any filming at the Salem Pioneer Village which Zombie scouted earlier this year.
Lords of Salem, which was primarily shot in Los Angeles, is currently in post-production and is expected to hit theaters next fall.
