Open Casting Call for ‘A Dog for Christmas’ will be held in Grand Rapids, MI this week

According to grnow.com, a new movie holiday movie starring Sherman Hemsley, Dustin Diamond, and Richard Karn will begin filming in Rockford, MI in January and they are looking for actors for speaking and background roles.

BeYourOwnHollywood.com and Joel Paul Reisig will be holding Open Casting Calls for the feature length comedy, A Dog for Christmas, to be filmed in Rockford the January.
The film’s stars include: Sherman Hemsley, star of the popular sitcom, The Jeffersons, Dustin Diamond of Saved by the Bell, and Richard Karn of Home Improvement.
When: Wednesday, December 7, 2011
Time: 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Where: 741 Kenmoor, Grand Rapids, MI 49546
The production will be hiring both union and non-union actors and have paid and unpaid roles available. All actors receive an IMDB credit:
Dave: Male Lead. Jewish or Jewish looking, 35 – 50. Must have great comedic timing. Only experienced actors for this role.
Janet: Female lead. Age 32 – 45. Caucasian, female – actress with a strong background in film acting.
Grandpa: Grumpy old Jewish man. Comedic timing and dramatic.
Matt: A bit of hard edge to him, a manager or small business owner on his brief vacation. 35 – 50
Susanna: Amazing character role for the right actress! 30 – 50. Ex- party girl who is now a bit burnt out, she’s borderline crazy, possibly homeless, and always a bit buzzed. Would have been really hot ten or so years ago.
Tom: Black male, 35 – 45. Calm, educated, suburban dad.
3 women to play wives: Ages 30 – late 40s. Limited lines but screen time and scenes, strong improv skills are a plus.
College guy: Good looking, must be a strong ice skater and willing to do his own stunts. One day of shooting, about three lines.
Hostess: Asian women with a very strong accent. 18+ years old – One day of shooting, full back and forth scene.
Waiter: Asian man, any age, with very strong accent. 18+ years old.
Check out girl: Girl working at the grocery store. Age 18 – 25.
Wesley’s Wife: African American woman, age 60 or over.
Office worker: Male 30- 60
Officer worker: Female 30 – 60
Office boss: Male 45 – 65
Family’s kids: Boys and girls age 9 and under. Multiple days. A few of the kids will have a couple of lines. Must be professional on set. Most days filming will be during Christmas break.
Earl’s sons: Two boys age 11- 13 Lots of screen time.
