On Wednesday the stars of The Hobbit, including Orlando Bloom, were spotted arriving in Nelson, NZ where they will be filming scenes for the movie. They are expected to return to Canaan Downs this week and have also been based at the Pelorus Bridge Campground between Nelson and Marlborough.
Recently the shoot has brought the movie’s cast and crew to a farm east of Ohakune and to Treble Cone in the Matukituki Valley. Be sure to check out Ian McKellen’s latest blog post where he describes how the cast and crew have been getting around from one remote location to another in New Zealand.
After several weeks of filming, the movie has also wrapped at the Hobbiton site which means tourists are being allowed back in. Tickets to tour the sets can be purchased at HobbitonTours.com.
