Be on the lookout for Tom Cruise, Leonardo DiCaprio, Chris Evans, Tom Hanks, Jesse Eisenberg & more celebs filming in Louisiana

It looks like 2012is going be a record-breaking year for Louisiana’s film industry with movies starring Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks, Morgan Freeman, and Ethan Hawke set to begin filming this spring. Here’s a detailed look at what’s currently filming, and what’s coming up in Louisiana:

The Untitled Tom Cruise Project
Universal Pictures’ feature film The Untitled Tom Cruise Project will shoot March 12, 2012 to August 12, 2012 in Baton Rouge and New Orleans. The movie, which has used the working titles Oblivion and Horizons, co-stars Jessica Chastain and follows a court martial who sends a veteran soldier to a distant planet, where he is to destroy the remains of an alien race.

Ender’s Game
Summit Entertainment’s feature film Ender’s Game will shoot February 24, 2012 to June 8, 2012 in New Orleans. Harrison Ford is rumored to be starring. UPDATE: Harrison Ford and Abigail Breslin have been confirmed for Ender’s Game.

Maersk Alabama (A Captain’s Duty)
Sony Pictures’ feature film Maersk Alabama (A Captain’s Duty) starring Tom Hanks will shoot February 13, 2012 to May 2012 in New Orleans.

Rugaru
Rugaru Productions’ feature film Rugaru starring Joe Estevez and Randall Oliver will shoot April 1, 2012 to May 15, 2012 in New Roads, Greensburg, and Maurepas.

Django Unchained
Weinstein Company’s feature film Django Unchained starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Samuel L. Jackson, and Jamie Foxx will start shooting February 2012 in New Orleans. Django Unchained also recently wrapped up a a few days of filming in Mammoth Lakes, CA.

The Host
Chockstone Pictures’ feature film The Host starring Saoirse Ronan will shoot February 13, 2012 to April 20, 2012 in Baton Rouge and New Orleans. The movie is based on the best-selling novel by Twilight author Stephenie Meyer. The movie will also be filming in New Mexico next year.

Now You See Me
Summit Entertainment’s feature film Now You See Me starring Mark Ruffalo, Morgan Freeman, and Jesse Eisenberg will shoot January 16, 2012 to March 26, 2012 in New Orleans. Now You See Me is one of the most highly anticipated movies of 2013 thanks to its stellar cast and premise which centers on a group of magicians who pull off bank heists during their death-defying acts and the FBI squad tasked with catching them. Getaway
Feature film Getaway starring Ethan Hawke will start shooting January 2012 in Baton Rouge.

Synarchy
Digital Media Production House’s feature film Synarchy will shoot February 4, 2012 to March 2, 2012 in Baton Rouge and New Orleans.

Common Law
Television series Common Law is shooting October 10, 2011 through mid February 2012 in New Orleans. You can check out the trailer for the new USA series here.

Breakout Kings (Season 2)
Fox’s television series Breakout Kings will shoot October 18, 2011 to February 13, 2012 in Baton Rouge.

Dog Fight (Southern Rivals)
Warner Bros. feature film Dog Fight (aka Southern Rivals) starring Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis will shoot November 14, 2011 to February 14, 2012 in New Orleans. Check out our Daily Filming Locations for updates about where Dog Fight is currently shooting.

Zombie Plantation
Huze Media Group’s feature film Zombie Plantation will shoot December 1, 2011 to February 1, 2012 in the St. Amant/Gonzales area.

Cutter
One Eyed Dog Films’ feature film Cutter will shoot early 2012 for 10 weeks in Baton Rouge.

The Iceman
Nu Image/Millennium’s feature film The Iceman starring Chris EvansWinona Ryder and Michael Shannon will shoot December 14, 2011 to January 28, 2012 in Shreveport. Yesterday the movie was filming on Edwards St., between Travis and Texas, in Shreveport.

Broken City
Emmett/Furla Films feature film Broken City starring Mark Wahlberg and Russell Crowe will shoot November 13, 2011 to January 26, 2012 in New Orleans. Snitch
Exclusive Media Group feature film Snitch starring Dwayne Johnson and Susan Sarandon will shoot December 3, 2011 to January 20, 2012 in Shreveport. Snitch has recently been spotted filming around Highland Ave & Ockley Dr in Shreveport.

Schism
Feature film Schism will shoot December 27, 2011 to January 18, 2012 in New Orleans.

King Dog
Feature film King Dog will shoot December 5, 2011 to January 14, 2012 in Baton Rouge and surrounding areas.

Treme (Season 3)
HBO’s television series Treme will begin shooting October 31st in New Orleans.
