The search is on to find Chris Meloni filming ‘True Blood’ (Open Thread)

Our email and Twitter accounts haven’t blown up this much since Breaking Dawn began filming last year.

Ever since it was announced that Christopher Meloni was joining the cast of the hit HBO series True Blood, we have been bombarded by people trying to find out where the series is filming.

It’s no surprise there is so much new interest in the show since Meloni is one of TV’s most popular actors and True Blood is one of TV’s most popular shows, for some fans it’s a dream come true!

The long-time star of Law and Order: SVU will play “an ancient, powerful vampire who holds the fate of Bill and Eric in his hands” in a recurring role that is expected to last all season.

True Blood has only been filming season five for about 3 weeks but so far we know they’ve been on location in San Pedro and Malibu.

They also shoot most of the series on a soundstage at Hollywood Center Studios. Though you can’t tour this studio, you see the Merlotte’s Bar & Grill building on the WB Studio Tour (the building is also being used in the CW series Hart of Dixie).

Since most of our information comes from reader tips, we are hoping that we can use this post as an open thread where fans can share any news about where the show may be filming in the L.A. area.

So, if spot any “TRUE” signs around L.A. or hear about a possible filming location, leave a comment below and hopefully, together, we’ll be able to track down the show, and its newest star, while filming in Los Angeles!

If you have any True Blood scoop you’d rather not share publicly, you can let me know via email at olv@onlocationvacations.com too!

  1. thanks Jackie! Hope we can get more info – unfortunately the next couple of weeks will be slow with Holiday breaks coming up but maybe we’ll have more luck in Jan~

  2. Excellent choice from Christopher Meloni’s part, instead of going network, he went cable at probably the most buzzed about show over the last couple of seasons.
