Last week the internet was buzzing overĀ the first photo of Daniel Day-Lewis as President Abraham Lincoln in Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln, which is wrapping up this week in Virginia, but I thought this new image of Joseph Gordon-Levitt in costume was just as intriguing since we rarely see the actor in a period film.
The photo was taken in Old Towne Petersburg, VA where the cast and crew have been filming scenes for the movie since last week. The movie is about the last four months of president Abraham Lincoln’s life and is based on historian Doris Kearns Goodwin’s book, “Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln.” Spielberg said in a statement earlier this year that the “remarkable period architecture found in Richmond and Petersburg make central Virginia the ideal location for this production.”
You can check out more photos of the shoot at Progress-Index.com, including several shots of the transformation Old Towne went through for the film.
