Matthew Fox begins filming ‘Emperor’ in New Zealand this month

Matthew Fox is headed to Auckland, New Zealand this month to start shooting Emperor.

Though the movie is filming in New Zealand, it is set in post-World War Two Japan. The Lost star plays General Bonner Fellers in the film which is described as “a political drama based on fact, set among the tensions and uncertainties following the Japanese surrender at the end of World War II.”

About the New Zealand shoot, ACIL chief executive Gary Swift said, “What it shows is films like this coming to New Zealand, they’re not just coming for the scenery. They’re coming here because it’s a fantastic place to make films.”

Filming begins at the film studios in Henderson in a couple weeks.
