‘Burt Wonderstone’, starring Steve Carell and Jim Carrey, begins filming at Frank Sinatra’s former estate

Today, the Steve Carell/Jim Carrey magician movie Burt Wonderstone began filming at the Farralone Estate in Chatsworh, CA, a home that was once owned by Frank Sinatra.

The house, which is currently for sale for $12 million, hosted party guests like Judy Garland, Lucille Ball, Ava Gardner, Vicente Minnelli, and Marilyn Monroe in its hay day. In recent years it has been featured in TV shows like Mad Men and Californication.

We’ve heard that Farralone will be the home of Doug Munny (James Gandolfini), a rich casino owner, in the movie.

Burt Wonderstone is expected to continue filming a party scene at the estate (around Prairie and Canoga) tomorrow but, if you want to check it out, don’t expect to get to close, the above photo shows the estate’s gate which is about as far as you’ll be able to get.
