After Earth’s Costa Rica filming location revealed and new photos from the set

Thanks to one of our readers we have some new details about where After Earth, starring Will and Jaden Smith, is currently filming in Costa Rica.

The base camp for the shoot is set up near Volcan Arenal. Since it is in a remote area the best way to find it, according to our tipster, is to use the coordinates 10 28 43.80 N, 84 44 19.60 W.

And, thanks to Will Smith and director M. Night Shyamalan, we also have a first look at that remote location.

Both have been sharing images from the shoot, including the photos below.

After Earth is set 1,000 years into the future and follows a young boy who navigates an abandoned Earth to save himself and his estranged father after their ship crashes.

You can see more photos at Will Smith’s Facebook page and M. Night Shyamalan’s Who Say
