Even though we were late to the party, we’ve become completely obsessed with ABC’s Revenge too.
And, since the show is not only popular but also has a beautiful backdrop, we’ve been doing some research about where it is being filmed.
Sadly, most of Revenge (including scenes shot at Emily’s beach house and Grayson Manor) are filmed on a soundstage at Raleigh Manhattan Beach Studio in Manhattan Beach, CA, not The Hamptons where the show is set.
The series follows Emily Thorne who is accepted into the wealthy Hamptons community she hopes to destroy, just as they destroyed her family.
Though Emily’s beach house and the Grayson mansion next door don’t exist in the Los Angeles area, there is some speculation the homes (or bits and pieces of them) are located outside of Wilmington, NC.
The pilot for Revenge was filmed in and around Wilmington, and some locals believe that this house, located at 6249 Pebble Shore Lane, Southport NC, is Emily’s beach house in the pilot.
Grayson Manor has proven to be much more difficult to find. According to Hooked On Houses, there is no actual Grayson Mansion. Instead, the exterior of the house is a photoshopped mash up of a house designed by architect Peter Cook and a mansion in Amagansett, NY., while the inside of the home (in the pilot) was shot at house located in Landfall, a community on the Intracoastal Waterway in Wilmington.
Both homes as we see them now in the series are sets built in the studio, with some creative use of green screens to fill in the background.
On occasion the show does film on location in and around Los Angeles. Keep an eye on our Daily Filming Locations for more information about where they’ll filming next!
