  2. I am available this summer, if you are looking to actually film in Wyoming. I live in Teton County on the edge of the wilderness at Turpin Meadow Ranch!!

  3. Why is it that few if any films and TV shows that are show nationwide which are based in Wyoming are actually filmed in Wyoming. EX. Longmire New Mexico (no where near Wyoming), BrokeBack mountain Alberta Canada, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid California, and Close Encounters of the Third Kind (except the devil’s tower scene)

  4. Filming locations are chosen based on infrastructure (i.e. local crews, studios, equipt, etc) and state tax incentives, NM has both so that is why a lot of projects film there. Wyoming has few incentives and little to offer in terms of studio space, etc so that is probably why…

  5. There are so many beautiful locations here in Wyoming and it irritates me they dont have the incentives to film in our state…..what exactly does it take to get the film industry to consider Wyoming for locations?

    • Christine, I talked with the Wyoming Film Commission and found out our incentives aren’t as good as NM…however I am aquainted with several legislators and am going to talk with them to have them consider increasing the incentives for films that have Wyoming story lines…I feel we are missing out and would hope they change things…

  6. I too get frustrated when a movie or film is suppose to take place in Wyoming and is filmed in NM or another place. I would like to see something filmed in Wyoming. But again I am glad that they don’t, because than everybody would see how spectacular parts of Wyoming are, like the Absaroka county and range and would flock there.

  7. James was calles today, June 15, 2012 for Longmire – wrong phone number given. Correct phone – 505-307-3552. Also Mary Peifer is available at 505-604-3116. we also have a navajo adult child who can be reached at 505-771-3370.

  8. Re Longmire…HE carries a 1911..it has been w us for…..102 years…you Carry a1911 Locked and Cocked. You do NOT carry it Hammer down!!!! When he does this in the show it totally destroys his credibility and that of the show!

  9. I watched the episode where the deputy was watching after the suspected murderer of the homeless guy. The ranch that longmire was on used to be Baca land and cattle co. I know and knew the owners of that ranch before they sold it. I actually worked that ranch for 5 seasons with my aunt and uncle if you are gonna film more there I could and would be able to give you more info and would like to be part of the cast if possible.
