‘Doctor Who’ expected to film an upcoming episode in NYC

During a Doctor Who Convention held in Cardiff, Wales last week, it was revealed that the series will return to America this year.

The show’s Executive Producer, Caroline Skinner, told convention goers that filming will take place in New York for the fifth episode of the upcoming seventh season.

The fifth episode is a big one as it will mark the last appearance of Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill as Amy Pond and Rory Williams. The show’s creator, Steven Moffat, confirmed the final episode with Gillan and Darvill will see them battle the Weeping Angels in NYC.

The series, which is shot in the U.K., also recently shot scenes for seventh season in Almeria, Spain. They shot on the same lots made famous by the classic spaghetti Westerns like The Magnificent Seven and A Fistful Of Dollars.

Stay tuned for more information about exactly where and when Dr. Who will shoot in NYC!
