Alec Baldwin will host an anti-hydrofracking event in Syracuse, NY on June 2, 2012

Alec Baldwin will be taking time out from his busy schedule this summer to host an event in Central New York.

The 30 Rock star will host What the Frack? at the Landmark Theatre in Syracuse, NY on Saturday, June 2 at 6 p.m.

The Academy Award-nominated documentary Gasland will be shown during the event. The movie focuses on energy companies’ attempts to lease land for hyrdraulic fracturing, also known as “hydrofracking”, often at the expense of the health and safety of local residents.

Baldwin visits the Syracuse area often as his mother, Carol M. Baldwin, lives nearby.

Tickets for What The Frack? are on sale now through Ticketmaster or at the Landmark Theatre box office for $22 or $12 with a student ID. For more information, visit landmarktheatre.org.
