‘The Railway Man’, starring Colin Firth & Nicole Kidman, filming in East Neuk of Fife, Scotland this weekend

Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman have started filming The Railway Man, based on the best-selling novel by Eric Lomax, in Scotland.

The book  chronicles the brutality Lomax endured as a prisoner in Burma during World War II and its aftermath as he tried to cope with what happened. Firth plays Lomax, while Kidman portrays his wife Patti in the film.

On Saturday, May 5, The Railway Man will shoot scenes in East Neuk village at the harbor and St Monans Parish Church.

Earlier this week they also filmed at the Bo’ness and Kinneil Railway in Linlithgow and next they plan to shoot in North Berwick.

The ten-week Scotland-based shoot started on April 30th  in Edinburgh, filming is set to move to Thailand in late May and to Australia in June.
