Christopher Meloni has recently been cast in the upcoming comedy They Came Together which will begin filming in NYC this week.
Chris spent more than ten years filming the TV series Law and Order: SVU in New York before he left the show last year.
They Came Together follows a local business owner (Amy Poehler) and a corporate businessman (Paul Rudd), whose company threatens to shut down her shop. Meloni will play Rudd’s boss.
Ed Helms, Jason Mantzoukas, Noureen DeWulf, Cobie Smulders, Max Greenfield and Michael Ian Black are also set to star.
According to a recent casting call the movie will begin filming on Tuesday, June 26. Director David Wain also confirmed the news on his blog, writing, “next week we start shooting a new movie! It’s called They Came Together. A spoof/homage/deconstruction/love letter to Romantic Comedies. I will be directing from a script I wrote with Michael Showalter who is producing. Cast is lead by Paul Rudd (excited to meet him) and Amy Poehler.”
UPDATE: Signs for They Came Together filming on Thursday and Friday, 6/28 & 6/29, spotted on Van Brunt St and Pioneer St in Brooklyn! (Thanks @NewYorkology)

Looks promising, funny how people still think he’s in the entire season of True Blood when he’s not. He filmed all his scenes last december into earlier this year. He’s done, I’m glad he’s in another movie. That make this one his 3rd movie, he’s filmed this year.
Hopefully the movie will be successful, I wish I still lived in NY. I would look to meet him..
