Safe Haven has officially wrapped filming in Wilmington, N.C. – where they spent the last two weeks filming – and has moved on to Southport, N.C., where the rest of the shoot is set to take place.
The movie is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Nicholas Sparks and stars Josh Duhamel, Julianne Hough, and Cobie Smulders.
This week the production is taking advantage of Southport’s annual North Carolina Fourth of July Festival. Tomorrow, Safe Haven will incorporate their shoot into the Fourth of July parade (though plans have been scaled back as to not interrupt the festivities) and will film part of the fireworks show in the evening. They will stage a second parade to get all of the shots they need later this month.
The movie also requested a permit for July 9-19 to film on Brunswick Street, where a set has been built to look like a general store called โRyanโs Port Market.โ
Filming is expected to run through early August. If you spot Safe Haven filming, let us know about it at olv@onlocationvacations.com!
