Yesterday we took part in the last press conference the cast of Twilight will ever attend (together) at San Diego Comic-Con.
First, The Cullens (Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz, Nikki Reed, Jackson Rathbone, Peter Facinelli, and Elizabeth Reaser) talked to reporters about life after Twilight. Next, author Stephenie Meyer, Mackenzie Foy, Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson, and Kristen Stewart discussed their life-changing experiences making the films.
If this were high school, there is no doubt Peter Facinelli would be the class clown. The actor, who plays the patriarch of the Cullen Clan, kept things light joking about what he missed from the movies. “I miss the woods,” he said. “I take weekend trips and I just wander around the woods, and I put my contact lenses in.”
One thing Kristen Stewart won’t miss about making the movies are the on set injuries. “I have bad luck with my thumbs,” she explained. “Any grimace you see [on screen] is probably real.” On the other hand, she might miss the wild sex scenes with co-star and real life boyfriend Robert Pattinson, even if they didn’t make it into the movie. “In the second one, we just wanted to be animals,” Stewart said. “We’re not human anymore. How do you do that? We tried, and they told us it was rated R, and we were like [she snapped fingers in disappointment].”
There were some sweet moments between Kristen and Rob during the press conference too. At one point he was whispering something to her while a reporter was asking a question and they both giggled. When the question ended up being directed to her, Kristen said, “Can you repeat the question? Rob was talking to me.”
When asked where they saw themselves in 5 or 10 years Jackson also jokingly replied saying, “A 10 year reunion, The Amazing Twilight“, while Elizabeth Reaser added, “I hope we are all healthy and no one is on Celebrity Rehab.”
Though Jackson was kidding, the future of Twilight was on the minds of everyone as this chapter in the Saga comes to a close. Though she confirmed Bella’s story has ended, Meyer did hint that Renesmee’s story might just be beginning. “There’s a reason this lovely lady was was created,” she said putting her arm around Mackenzie Foy, who plays Renesmee in the movie.
When asked if there were any movies they loved as much as their fans love Twilight, Nikki Reed was surprisingly honest when she answered, “I don’t want to sound like a passionless person, but no.”
Though the movies may have changed all of their lives forever, it doesn’t sound like anyone in the cast would change anything. Taylor Lautner summed it up when he said he was “honored to bring [Jacob] to life.”
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part II hits theaters on November 16, 2012.
